Reply with quote | #2 | If you're flying into Salvador, the airport code is SSA. It seems that some US airlines will not have ties with Brazilian airlines in the future (I know mid-November American will no longer be partnering with TAM), so if you're booking a flight you might want to look on Orbitz or one of the other sites like it rather than the airlines' websites! |

Reply with quote | #3 | ...also dblackbean, if you are looking at Delta's site, you will not find SSA (Salvador) because Delta, from Atlanta, will only go to: code GRU (Sao Paulo). From there you must take GOL airlines or TAM airlines
Good luck! |

Reply with quote | #5 | From Atlanta, you should be looking at flights from Miami. TAM flies direct to Salvador on Sunday morning. Check with the Brazilian agencies BACC Travel or Chang Express for the consistently cheapest fares to Brazil from the U.S. east coast. |

Are there any airlines in Brasil that code share with Delta? From Rio to Salvador? __________________ Embrace our similarities, celebrate and learn from our differences. Peace |

Reply with quote | #8 | I don't know of any company in Brasil that partners with Delta. But things change fast these days. __________________ The world is full of cactus, but that doesn't mean you have to sit on it... |

I know dear heart, the SSA market is AA's and some Brasilian carriers. But thanks for the response. __________________ Embrace our similarities, celebrate and learn from our differences. Peace |

Reply with quote | #10 | This last trip I flew with continental (they left my bags on the tamarac in the rain in Huston and ruined a bunch of new books and papers) and I believe they codeshared with someone down here, but I can't recall who it was. Possibly TAM. I'm still pretty peeved about the books as they basically told me I had to have reported the damage within 4 hours of it happening (how do you do this on an overnight flight with a connection in the morning when you haven't seen your suitcases in 22 hours??), so I would not recommend continental to anyone at the moment. __________________ The world is full of cactus, but that doesn't mean you have to sit on it... |

Reply with quote | #11 | Check out my thread 'Ocean Air'. You don NOT want to book your connector through your flight agency. Well you can if you want but you'll pay like a rookie gringo in a Brazilian market. Best to go online and book it yourself but you will need an american express card.
