Reply with quote | #1 | Saw the film today, Besouro, based on the legend of Besouro Mangangá of Santo Amaro.
It was what I was hoping against, but in some ways even worse. The soundtrack had NOTHING local to the area, an ironic lapse given that this area is the cradle of Brazil's national music (samba), and a deep rich musical cauldron.
Man, but they had those trippin' power chords going though!
Bad script, boring storyline...
It LOOKED great though! Taking photographic stills out of it would yield some very impressive images! Too bad it wasn't conceived as a photographic exhibit! |

Good grief!
The soundtrack was by these three (I think) guys calling themselves Instituto, including one guy from Nação Zumbi.
